Our goal
Every guide on The Salon Notes should help you choose a haircut or hairstyle with confidence. That means being clear about who a look suits, what it takes to maintain and when it is worth asking a stylist for advice.
How we choose topics
We cover the questions readers search for and save most, such as haircuts for a certain age, face shape or hair type. We avoid topics where we cannot add practical value.
How we research and write
- Guides are based on how cuts and techniques are described in professional salon education, on product instructions and on the questions readers ask most.
- We describe each look in terms you can repeat to your stylist: length, layering, parting and finishing.
- We do not give medical advice. Hair loss, scalp conditions and allergic reactions need a doctor or dermatologist.
Images
Images show the style described in each section. Your result will depend on your hair texture, density and face shape, so use them as inspiration and bring them to your consultation.
Accuracy and updates
We review popular guides regularly and update them when trends, products or techniques change. The "Updated" date at the top of each guide shows the latest review. If you spot a mistake, please contact us and we will correct it.
Advertising and affiliate links
The Salon Notes is supported by advertising. Some guides may include affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Advertisers and partners never decide what we write or which looks we recommend.
